A Return to the Atlantic

I was born in Lisbon, but it was London that shaped most of my adult life — twelve years working in law, in a city that never quite slows down. When something shifted, I didn't go back to where I started. I followed the coast further north, to A Coruña, where the light is Atlantic and the pace is different. I began working with clay and cast materials in a small studio near the beach — slowly, without a plan. Carolina Mar Studio grew from that arrival: to making things by hand, to living at a different rhythm, to the particular quiet of the Galician coast.

The Philosophy

Every piece is handcrafted in my studio in A Coruña. I work with DAS air-dry clay and jesmonite — materials that reward slowness and resist repetition. Every piece is hand-shaped or cast in my studio in A Coruña, creating lifestyle objects that are meant to be used, held, and lived with.
